Dodgers Return With More Police at Stadium

A zero tolerance policy will greet fans who misbehave.

1. The Dodgers will play at Dodger Stadium tonight for the first time following the announcement strict new security measures including a zero-tolerance policy for misbehaving fans. The measures include off-duty police officers normally hired by the Dodgers for security to be in uniform. Also LAPD officers will be stationed at stadium entrances and exits. The move comes in response to the Opening Day parking lot attack that left San Francisco fan Bryan Stow in a coma.

2. An Anaheim delegation including Mayor Tom Tait is scheduled to make a presentation before the NBA Board of Governors today in New York City to persuade it to approve the Sacramento Kings move to Anaheim. Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, a former star NBA guard, will also make a presentation in an attempt to have the Kings stay in the city where they have played since 1985.

3. Authorities were investigating today the origination of a green laser light that allegedly was focused on a KCAL9 helicopter flying in Santa Monica. The helicopter was above the 2900 block of Pico Boulevard, near Dorchester Avenue, about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday when the pilot noticed the laser, Santa Monica police Sgt. Richard Lewis said. KCAL9 personnel reviewed the video and reported the address to track the laser location.

4. Last chance: The exhibit Extreme Exposure enters its final days at the Annenberg Space for Photography in Century City. The exhibit features amazing nature photographs from the pages of National Geographic, and the stories of the artists who go to the extreme to take them.

5. Weather today: Sunny, with highs in the upper 60s. Tonight, mostly clear with lows in the mid 50s.
