2)    Mother’s Day family brunch at Napa Valley Grill

It’s Mother’s Day and Napa Valley Grill is having a Mother’s Day Brunch that caters to both Moms and their picky children. The three-course prix fixe brunch menu is $49 per person and includes dishes made from local farmers’ market fruits and vegetables and a glass of champagne. Kids 12 and under can try the $12.50 three-course kids menu that includes Brioche French Toast and Farm Eggs with Cheddar Cheese. The brunch is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 8. Reservations are required.

3)    Fancy Nancy Illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser at Children’s Book World

Glasser is visiting Children’s Book World at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7 to celebrate the release of the latest Fancy Nancy book, “Fancy Nancy Aspiring Artist.” Kids ages 4 to 8 can learn about how Glasser illustrates the beloved Fancy Nancy books and make art work of their own. If children bring in their artwork by Friday, May 6, it could become part of the art gallery that will hang on the Children’s Book World window for 2 weeks. The event is free.

4)    Shoot a Mother’s Day video and enter to win shopping spree

Westfield, the company that owns Westfield Century City shopping mall, is giving away a $2,500 shopping spree. To enter, film a 30-second video about why your mom is so special. One lucky winner will receive the shopping spree, a year of VIP parking at the Westfield mall, and a family photo on the cover of the Westfield Family Calendar. 5)    Mother’s Day special at Matteo’s

Take your mom to Mother’s Day dinner at one of Frank Sinatra’s old hangouts. Matteo’s Restaurant is offering a three-course meal for $45 on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9p.m.  The menu features zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese, filet mignon with gorgonzola, and a peach and mascarpone cream tart. The Mother’s Day menu also includes a glass of prosecco. Call for reservations.
