The Lindbrook-Gayley Project's new design, now more in character with other buildings in Westwood Village, l.

"We're so pleased at the responsiveness of the owner and his architects and his legal team in responding to the Westwood Community Council and committee to edit the architecture in such a way that we're getting back to a village architectural [character] rather than what we've seen earlier," said Mike Metcalfe, chair of the planning and land use committee.

The previous design had a modern look that did not jive with the village's architectural character, council members said. The new design, a mix of red brick and stone, fits in more with the surrounding buildings. The building will have three stories: two floors of apartments above retail space and amenities for residents on the ground floor. There will be two subterranean levels of parking.
