Solar Panels to Be Installed at Westfield Century City

Construction is expected to begin early next year and be completed by the end of 2013.

Westfield Century City is going solar. The Westfield Group has awarded a contract to a national solar firm to install a proposed 765 kW rooftop array at the mall.

The firm, Martifer Solar USA, has already installed solar arrays at Westfield's Topanga and Fashion Square malls.

According to a press release issued by Martifer, the Century City shopping center's system will consist of three rooftop arrays—to be built above spaces currently occupied by a movie theater, restaurant and common areas—and a series of shade canopies installed as part of a new construction project that will include the addition of a four-story parking structure at the mall.
