Occidental Petroleum Names New CFO
The Westwood-based company is the nation's fourth-largest oil and gas exploration company.
Former Goldman Sachs executive Cynthia Walker has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer of Westwood-based Occidental Petroleum Corp., it was announced Friday.
Walker, 35, replaces James M. Lienert, who held the post for two years and will remain with the company as executive vice president of business support, responsible for supply chains and information technology. Walker was most recently a managing director at Goldman Sachs, where she worked for 12 years.
"We feel very fortunate that an executive of Ms. Walker's caliber is joining the ranks of our senior management," sad Stephen I. Chazen, Occidental's president and CEO.

"Ms. Walker has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and finance at one of the world's top global investment banking and securities firms and with a specific focus on the upstream oil and gas industry," he said. "As a result of her background in these areas, she is tailor-made to serve as our CFO.''
