New $30M Parking Garage On the Way for Westfield Century City

More than 500 parking spaces will be added as part of the mall's new garage design.

Westfield Century City recently announced plans for a $30 million parking upgrade at the mall, which will include the addition of hundreds of new spaces.

Other changes that are part of the new garage design include a park-assist system, charging stations for electric vehicles, lobbies on each of the seven new parking levels, a renovated court in front of Gelson's and a remodeled valet near Gelson's.

"This parking upgrade is the latest example of Westfield’s commitment to surprise and delight its shoppers," said Phillip St. Pierre, senior general manager of Westfield Century City, in a statement. "It is important that we continue to provide amenities that matter most to our loyal customers and community."

New parking fees are being implemented in part to help offset the cost of the garage. Shoppers will pay $1 per hour for the first three hours, $1 for every 15 minutes after, and $24 for five or more hours. Mall-goers who show receipts for $250 or more spent that day will get free validated parking.

AMC customers will get the first three hours free and then pay a $4 flat rate for the fourth and fifth hour with validation. Gelson's will also validate.

A final design has not yet been approved for the project, which is expected to be completed in the fall.
