Ike's Place Aims for June Opening in Westwood

The popular San Francisco sandwich shop will move into the spot on Westwood Boulevard formerly rented to Subway restaurant.

Ike's Place, a Northern California sandwich chain owned by Ike Shehadeh, could open up in Westwood Village as soon as next month.

Shehadeh said he hopes to open the location sometime in June. The popular sandwich shop will take over the space formerly rented to Subway restaurant, at 1151 Westwood Blvd.

The company with the slogan "Love & Sandwiches" serves a long list of quirky-named creations, with vegan and vegetarian-friendly choices like the Stupid Eggplant Sandwich (with breaded eggplant, marinara and provolone) or the Sometimes I'm a Vegetarian (grilled mushrooms, marinated artichoke hearts, pesto and provolone), to the not so heart-healthy Doomsday sandwich (with bacon, extra jack, habanero salsa, ham, mozzarella sticks, pastrami, roast beef, salami, stuffed jalapeno poppers and turkey).
