Southbound 405 Closing for Construction

Freeway will start closing at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. Northbound lanes will be affected Thursday and Friday nights.

This post was reported by City News Service.

The southbound San Diego (405) Freeway will be closed Tuesday night and Wednesday night from the Ventura (101) Freeway to Getty Center Drive so crews can install girders for the Skirball Bridge in the Sepulveda Pass.

Freeway ramps in the area will begin closing as early as 7 p.m. Tuesday, with some lane closures beginning around 10 p.m., according to Metro, which is overseeing the construction project. The full freeway closure is expected to last from midnight to about 5 a.m.

The northbound San Diego Freeway will be closed during the same times in the area on Thursday and Friday nights, although the Friday night closure will last from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.

The Skirball Bridge will be closed all four nights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Sepulveda Boulevard will remain open, and access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, according to Metro.
