Rescue Pet of the Week: Meet Firefly

Firefly is a lovable, but high energy dog who could really use a home.

If you've got energy to burn, has the West Los Angeles Animal Care Center got a pal for you!. Her name is Firefly. She's an approximately 5-year-0ld American Staffordshire Terrier, which means she's a high-energy, playful girl.

But according to Samantha Westbrook, New Hope Coordinator, Firefly is also a love-muffin and gets along great with just about everybody, including other dogs. She just needs a good, solid yard and plenty of exercise.

She's not only spayed, but she was trained through a program called K9 Connection, which uses at-risk teens to train homeless shelter dogs. So Firefly can sit, lay down and stay on command. She's been at the shelter since January, so she needs a good home sooner rather than later.
