Bits About Bites

Check out these announcements from local restaurants.

Two local restaurants recently announced new offerings. Hinoki & the Bird will now serve lunch and Bibigo is featuring a special menu created by a K-pop sensation.

BibigoThrough July 31, Bibigo is serving its modern Korean food Gangam Style.  The Century City and Woodland Hills restaurant locations have teamed up with singer Psy to offer his favorite Korean dishes, including hot stone bibimbap served with Micho-ade drink, sweet and spicy rice cake and fried mini wontons. (The Beverly Hills location is offering bibimbap, kimchi stew, spicy pork ribs and two Psy So Cool cool cocktails.)

In addition to tasting some of Psy’s favorite dishes, guests will also have an opportunity to win a trip to Korea by ordering an item off Psy’s menu.

This is the second time the restaurant has teamed up with Psy. Earlier this month, the eatery held an in-store casting call to find a personal chef for the performer. As of now, the search continues. The top three finalists have been announced on www.psygobibigo.com and voting will continue until June 10, 2013.

In Westwood, Bibigo is located at 1091 Broxton Ave. It's at the Westfield Century City mall at 10252 Santa Monica Blvd. in Century City.

Hinoki & the Bird
At Hinoki & the Bird, which opened in Century City in late January, founder and chef, David Myers, and Executive Chef Kuniko Yagi—of Bravo TV's Top Chef fame—began offering lunch this week. Along with several restaurant favorites, there are a new selection of salads, sandwiches and entrees. Look for green papaya salad, a crispy chicken sandwich, filet mignon sandwich and monkfish on the menu.

Lunch runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at its location inside The Century condominium building, 10 West Century Drive.
