Weekend Planner: They Might Be Giants, Run A 10K

A selection of weekend events going on in your neighborhood.

 

Westwood-Century City Patch has a list of things you can do in your neighborhood and on the Westside this weekend.

They Might Be Giants: A Special Family Show

  • Where: Royce Hall, UCLA
  • When: Jan. 28 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.
  • Event: Bring your family to see They Might Be Giants at UCLA's acoustically amazing Royce Hall. The band will play favorites from their Grammy-nominated (and winning) albums. The family-friendly show is at 3 p.m. and the band performs another all-ages show at 8 p.m.
  • Cost: $20

 

4 Her Life 10K

  • Where: 1801 Avenue of the Stars
  • When: Sunday at 7 a.m.
  • Event: Stretch your legs and run or walk a 10K or a 5K to support breast cancer awareness.
  • Cost:$30

 

New West Symphony Presents: Serenade To Music 

  • Where: Barnum Hall at Santa Monica High School
  • When: Sunday at 4 p.m.
  • Event: Hear exceptional performances of works by Brahms and Vaughn Williams in Santa Monica.
  • Cost: Starting at $25

 

Mapping Another L.A.: The Chicano Art Movement

  • Where: Fowler Museum at UCLA
  • When: Saturday-Sunday from 12-5 p.m.
  • Event: An exhibit about Chicano art and art spaces in Los Angeles in the 1970's. The exhibit continues until Feb. 26. For more information on the exhibit, click here.
  • Cost: Free.

 

West LA Farmers Market

  • Where: Near the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Corinth Avenue.
  • When: Sunday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Event: Local, in-season fruits and vegetables for sale next to tents filled with art, crafts, flowers and prepared foods.
  • Cost: Free.
