Candy Spelling Closes on $35 Million Century City Condo

The penthouse unit was originally priced at $47 million.

Candy Spelling closed Wednesday on the purchase of a penthouse at The Century in Century City.

Spelling reportedly paid $35 million for the two-story property, which was originally priced at $47 million.

The deal is a "sign of confidence for the real estate market and for vertical living in Los Angeles," said Susan de Franca, president of Related Sales, told Curbed LA, which first reported the news.

The sales price is apparently a record for a condo in Los Angeles.

The intended purchase was first announced 2 1/2 years ago. Sales in the project began in 2007.

"It will be at least a year" before Spelling moves in, her publicist, Flo Grace, told Curbed LA.

Spelling's Holmby Hills home -- the famous mega-mansion she used to share with her late husband, producer Aaron Spelling -- is currently listed at $150 million.
